SKHM (Patrick Zeigler´s system)
(Pronounced Saykhém)

SKHM is the healing spiritual energy that the Egyptiansused and was taught in the temples of ancient Egypt. SKHM is channeled Living Light Energy from Source. It is an other aspectof the One source, just like Reiki. It was rediscovered by PatrickZeigler while being in Egypt.

Just like Reiki SKHM connects with Source, to establish a healing in the Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual bodies.The Energy is used to heal and to stimulate the personal development to reach ones true purpose. The aspect of unconditional love is very present and can not be compared with any other energy.

SKHM is more of a group oriented energy and one of the great aspects is, that it seems to support your development and takes you to new insights and usage of this energy. This is probably the reason why the system is adapted and changed along the way by the people who used the energy. Also Kathleen Milner (Tera Mai Seichem) has adapted this system and created her own. SEICHIM was the original name given to the system and SEICHIM has gone through a few developments along the way since the rediscovery of the energy by Patrick Zeigler in 1980. Now there is; Isis Seichim, Seichem, Seichim, Sekhem and SKHM.

Most people use different symbols and ways to initiate a person. SKHM is how Patrick connects and works with the energy. This is also to put an end to the confusion of the different spellings. Patrick doesn't work with "regular" attunements anymore, instead he uses, what he calls:"flowing meditations". Patrick supports initiations through ones own internal process, rather than energetically altering ones energetic field to bring up a premature Initiation. It is more of a process of allowing and guiding the flow of the energy. Through this process certain energetic blocks are found and identified once the awareness of these blocks are found spontaneous initiation may occur.

Patrick feels that it is better to let the energy itself be the teacher, that way he does not place his own limitations on it. Even though it does have an Egyptian feel and heritage, he does not promote it as such because that in itself begins to define what the energy is. Once it is defined it becomes very difficult to grow and expand.

There are many definitions of the word SKHM, but it always means Power in a spiritual manner. Might, Altar, The Natural Force,Vital Force, Vital Force Of Men, or any Spiritual Power or PsychicForce, Place of the Gods, God of the Altar or Habitat of the Gods,Place of Power. SKHM can be a beautiful addition to Reiki or whatever kind of energetic healing method.

Myths about Seichim Reiki

MYTH: Seichim is Reiki with an Infinity sign added.

My interest and ability in healing began in the early 1980’s after my experience in Egypt. After that time I began self hands on healing when I would become Ill. At that time I would put my hands on my body and feel a powerful current running through my body at time my muscles would vibrate and release with the flow of energy. Before that time my main interest was Yoga and Meditation. After my return from Nepal I wanted to learn more about the energy I was tapping into so I received Massage and Energy Healing training at the NewMexico Academy of Healing arts.

My First teacher was Robert March who specialized in Vibrational Healing and Polarity. Several months later I took my first Reiki course and followed through to 3A with Barbara Weber Ray. I was given a Master Attunement and was taught a Healing attunement.I was very disappointed in the whole process, especially the secrecy and politics at that time. To me it was not about healing at all. After the attunment I did not notice any great shift in the energy I was able to channel: however, the information and simplicity of passing an attunement was an import missing piece of knowledge.I had received attunements from other spirtual paths and with the information from Barbara Ray, it filled in one of missing pieces.

When I went to HeartwoodInstitute of Healing arts I began to expand on what I had learned and added sound healing and Visualizations to the attunements.

Later I met a Channeler who was Channeling a being named Marat. In a free reading I asked about the Healing work I was doing at the time. He said that what I was doing was not Reiki but “Setim”. The Channeler used a form of automatic writing, so I asked if this spelling was correct. He answered that there was no way for him to spell it in English and gave some alternate spellings.Eventually I settled on the Seichim spelling, which still did not feel right ,but felt much closer to the proper spelling. Sometimes I even spelled it Seichem. At that time I did incorporate the Healing meditation with some of the information that was channeled to me. Later I shared this information with Christine Gerber the Channeler and others at Heartwood. Christine and Marat had no previous experience with Reiki yet the information that was channeled was very similar to the Healing attunement given to me by Barbara Ray. The major differences were the addition of the infinity symbol and the way the symbols were melded to the skin of the person receiving the attunement.

Reiki did play an important part because I would not have understood the basics of passing an attunement without the information from Barbara Ray.

One aspect of healing that did become clear for me was that many people who are gifted healers come to a Reiki and then after the class they identify the abilities that they already had with Reiki.

This was also my experience with Reiki.

MYTH: Kwan Yin hadgiven the Seichim Symbols to Patrick!

At the time that I was first teaching Seichim I had not heard of Kwan Yin.

MYTH: Sekhmet is theguardian of Seichim and Sekhem

Even though there are strong references in Egyptian mythology and in Robert Mastersbook “ The Goddess Sekhmet” This has not been my Experience with Seichim. Others who were told of the connection have said that they have had Sekhmet appear to them. It has been my experience that the energy will take on any form that a person feels comfortable with.

MYTH: Seichim is from the Eastern tradition and Sekhem has Egyptian Heritage.

My first experiences with energetic healing occurred while in Egypt and my first Initiation occurred while in the Great Pyramid. I feel that this was a pivotal point in my life. While in Architecture College my projects were designed with Pyramid symbology and Sacred geometry. I always had a very strong connection to Imhotep.

MYTH: Seichim is of a Sufi origin

This myth is what I would call a partial truth. There is a very strong connection with the Brahani order of Sufism, because it was their order that I was lead to after the Initiation in the Great Pyramid. The wisdom and attunement given to me was coupled with a meditation to help oneself to have a deeper connection to their spiritual heart and the creator.This was a welcome complement to my experience in the Pyramid.The Sufi teachings which came one week after the Pyramid Initiation helped me to have a deeper understanding of SKHM and a way to teach SKHM to others.The meditation of All Love and the Zikir Dance taught in classis a result of the Sufi wisdom.

MYTH: Multiple Seichim and Reiki attunements will close down the crown chakra.

The crown chakra is the gateway for opening to your Column of Light, which is represented by the It is your divine gateway to the creator. Attunements by themselves can not interfere with your divine connection. If your ability to channel has some how been disrupted, there was never a true connection to source to begin with. Many times a teacher will place a template of fear into a students belief system that says," In order for them to channel energy in a pure way they must follow their teachings exactly and be exclusive to them or they will lose their ability".

It has been my experience that the fewer limitations that you put on yourself, the clearer your channel will become. In many cases a very controlling teacher will become your greatest limitation.

MYTH: The goal of SKHM is used for an increase of power.

Most who have taken the SKHM class have noticed an increase in their healing abilities as well as personal power. This however is only a result of the class and not its goal.
The main goal of the class is to establish a direct connection with the creator -- our greatest gift.

MYTH: The Egyptian translation of SKHM is that of Power or possibly destruction.

From most all the translations I have come across, the term SKHM or Sekhem is refered to as the highest spiritual power or energy. (gift, ability and experience)

In E. A. Wallis Budge "A Hieroglyphic Vocabulary to the Book of the Dead The meaning of Sekhem is given as:
The words power and energy can be used interchangeably as most authors may not be familiar with terms of spiritual knowledge used by Egyptians. The Hieroglyph that represents Sekhem is the Scepter over the crown of man. Which is a symbolic representation of the heavenly energies entering into the crown of man. This symbology is a representation of a SKHM-Khet (Initiation). Merging heaven on earth into man.

There are also multiple meaning for the word SKHM just like many of our words in English have multiple meanings.

Sekhem: Shrine, sanctuary

Sekhem: An ancient Mythical City,much lke Shangri-La (Said to be a city of "heaven on earth""city of the Gods" which will rise up at the end of time.)

Traditionally in order for a Spiritual Initiation to take place the old negative patterns which keep us from experiencing the creator are destroyed and replaced with a new template of Love. If used in this context SKHM has the ability to destroy or transform those negative patterns.

MYTH: Group healing meditations may cause an unhealthy energetic link.

Group healing mediations can be very effective to help facilitate a spontaneous healing or SKHM-Khet(Initiation). This is one of the most positive aspects of groups.For each person who is added to the group, the energy level that is available increases exponentially. Many times what we feel we cannot accomplish on our own, with the help and support of others those goal can be reached. We are all individuals yet we are all one.

Most groups have what I would call a positive and a negative pole. Many times certain individuals will represent those poles and hold that energy. In group facilitation it is import to be aware of this group dynamic and bring these energies into a harmonic place of healing. In most cases those individuals who perceive negative energies in others constantly are holding the greatest amount of fear energy themselves. Through awareness and experiencing the fear from a place of Love and compassion the element of fear loses it's power and a spontaneous healing may occur.

Many times those who perceive similar reoccurring negative patterns in others constantly are simply seeing a reflection of that energy that is buried deep within themselves. Through active participation and recognition of this, a very powerful healing may occur. In many cases an individual may have a very deep experience of fear come up in class and want to leave the group prematurely.

If they do leave the group without the newly opened up energy completing its cycle, they may have the constant impression that those energies are coming from other individuals in the group. In reality however. those energies are coming from deep within themselves. This is one reason why I highly recommend not dropping out ofthe group prematurely.

Even though mental, emotional and physical healing do take place the SKHM class is not recommended for people currently being medicated or have serious mental and emotional problems. The class is designed for mentally healthy people who wish to strengthen their awareness to source.

MYTH: Patrick did not emphasize his Egyptian experiences until after Phoenix, Burack, Belot and others had created the Egyptian focus.

I have had a very strong connection to Ancient Egypt, at the age of 12 I began doing research on Pyramids,Hieroglyphics and ancient Egyptian culture. While in architecture college I studied sacred geometry and applied those principles to my thesis project at the Great Pyramid. I also studied with Christopher Bird in 1978 co-author and colleague with Peter Tompkins who wrote "The Secrets of the Great Pyramid," a book which inspired me to spend the night in the Great Pyramid. I have shared my Initiation experience with friends and family, but I did not put the experience in writing until I began to share my experience on the Internet. Phoenix Summerfield's Egyptian emphasis came from private phone calls with me as well as her own experience with the energy.

MYTH: There is a nebulous quality to the history of Seichim

I have always shared the history of Seichim with others. I am probably the only person who has met all of the people who have contributed to the development of Seichim. A very concise history is available in the Book "AllLove a guidebook for Sekhem-Seichim-Reiki"

There are other Seichim books that have been written, and the authors did not make an effort to contact me to get the correct information or purposely altered the information given to them. I have also never met many of the other authors and much of the information is not accurate and I cannot recommend their books or web pages.

MYTH: SKHM is distinctly similar to Rebirthing.

For someone who only attends the Breathing portion of the class this may appear to be correct. Along with the energy there are several other modalities used that help facilitate a stronger connection to the energy. The use of breath is just one of those modalities. The conscious use of breath is the main modality of Rebirthing while it is only one of many used in a SKHM class.

MYTH: Patrick studied the Radiance Technique, which was the basis for the Seven facets of Seichim.

I never studied the Radiance Technique with Barbara Ray. The Seven Facets were developed by Phoenix Summerfield over a period of several years. T-Om Seaman also developed a multi level system that was separate from Phoenix which he also called Renegade Reiki.
